Independent ideas, built for real

Made to
play. Built
to work.

Games worth getting lost in. Apps that make life easier. Curious experiments that sometimes turn into something bigger. Welcome to my corner of the internet.

Canyon Run · real gameplay
01 / Featured launch

Out of the workshop.
Into the world.

The latest project to make the leap from “what if?” to something you can actually play.

Web game · Featured project

Canyon
Run.

Low altitude. High stakes. Choose from four airframes, carve a line through 30 canyon checkpoints, and race for a place on the leaderboard. Fly solo or form a squadron with friends.

Play Canyon Run ↗

Best on a desktop or laptop with a mouse.

02 / What I make

A little bit of
everything, on purpose.

Canyon Run is the first one out the door. This is where the next game, the next useful tool, and the side project that refuses to stay a side project will show up.

Games

Fast, fun, and just challenging enough to keep you coming back for one more try.

Apps & tools

Practical software for everyday annoyances, niche problems, and everything in between.

Experiments

New technologies, odd ideas, and prototypes built simply to see what might be possible.

03 / Build notes

How Canyon Run
got off the ground.

The short version of going from “what if?” to something people actually fly.

  1. No install, no download

The goal was a real jet racer that opens in a browser tab. It's built with Three.js, and the same server runs the races and the leaderboards.

  2. Making it look right

The jets are adapted from free models by the 3D artist bohmerang. The rocks and gates took many tries to get right, and the canyon's shape and lighting were tuned until it stopped looking like a prototype.

  3. What the testers found

Friends on Discord flew it and told me what they ran into, like a jet sitting off-center on one screen and slow frame rates on laptops. My daughter said it should be faster, so it got faster. Then it was too easy, so the canyon got tighter. Each round of notes gave me something to fix, adjust and fly again, and that's what keeps me going.

04 / The person behind it

Hey, I'm
Kelso.

Developer, maker, and lifelong believer that the best projects start with “I wonder if…”

Kelsoworks is my personal space to build and share things I care about. Some projects solve a problem. Some are just plain fun. Most involve learning something new along the way. The common thread? I love turning an idea into a thing you can actually use, explore, or play.
